MD Automation was founded here in the UK by a South African family - whose background was supply & installation of gate automation and access control to the commercial and residential industry since 1995. In 1999 the family moved to the UK and continued the same high standard and quality of workmanship installing a full range of equipment and continued aftercare. Under new ownership the business continues to support its strong customer base who have assisted in growing the business to what it offers you today. MD Automation is ideally placed to work with you - protecting property & and keeping your family safe and commercially to reduce the risk of theft. In addition the access control component of any installation is critical in ensuring the system is as user friendly to operate as possible.

MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE

The MD Automation Ltd Management structure is very flat, we are in a service industry and need to be able to respond quickly to changes in the market place.

It is the Company Directors that are responsible for the automation system and the installation that the client chooses and is of appropriate quality and reliable.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

It is our policy to provide and maintain a safe working area whilst assuring the Customer that there will be a minimum amount of inconvenience at their property during the period of installation. We will also make sure that the property is left in a neat and tidy condition at the end of play of each day.

We have a qualified first aider and we carry a stocked first aid box in the vehicle at all times.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What happens in an event of a power failure?

Automation systems are either AC or DC, both systems are installed with a manual release type mechanism, however DC systems have a battery back up which will allow the motors to continue running for a number of operations when the mains power is off.

What will stop the gate from closing on my car?

There are two main vehicle protection systems:

1. Infrared Photocells – When the beam is broken while the gates are closing the gates will re-open and remain open while the beam is broken. 2. Induction loops – A loop can be cut into the ground in the arc of the gates, which detects metal in cars and will hold the gates open while the car is parked over the loop.

What is "hold open facility"?

"Hold open" is when the user can switch a switch or push a button on their remote control, which will open the gate and keep the gate open until the switch is switched off.

What is auto close time?

Your gates can either be programmed to close automatically behind you from 5 seconds to 1 minute, or you can choose to close them yourself via your remote.

How will tradesman be able to enter through the gates?
